The Tempest – Roundhouse, RSC

The Tempest is one of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays, telling the story of Prospero, Duke of Milan, as he is banished to a remote island. There, Prospero employs his dark arts to rule over the spirit Ariel and the savage Caliban.

In this 2002 production by the Royal Shakespeare Company directed by Michael Boyd, Armstrong worked with fellow composer John Woolf. Prospero was played by Malcolm Storry, with Geff Francis as Caliban and Kananu Kirimi as Ariel. The show played at London’s Roundhouse theatre, followed by a run at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
