The release of Mogwai’s remix of For Emma is the final track in the EP now released.
Craig said of Mogwai’s involvement, “It was fantastic that Stuart from Mogwai did a remix of the track as I have been a lifelong fan of their music”.
Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, lead guitarist of the band also known for their work on soundtracks for The Fountain and documentary film Before the Flood, said it was an “honour” to work with Armstrong, and enjoyed putting his unique stamp on the track.
The EP of three new arrangements of the album track include a vocal version written by singer-songwriter Hero Fisher, a remix by Scottish post-rock pioneers Mogwai and a sublime solo piano track, performed by Armstrong on a Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano. The tracks also feature performances by musicians of the Scottish Ensemble.
