Slow Movement

Craig Armstrong used a simple structure of strings to create Slow Movement, which was performed as part of the 1994 BT Scottish Ensemble tour.

The piece would go on to form part of the award-winning soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s hit film, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (1997), which Armstrong produced alongside Nellee Hooper and Marius de Vries. The score would be recognised with both a BAFTA and an Ivor Novello Award.
