Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

In 2006 Craig Armstrong scored Oliver Stone’s moving tribute to the heroes of 9/11, World Trade Center. He follows this up in 2010 with a return to the great American theme for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (20th Century Fox), the sequel to 1987’s Wall Street in which Michael Douglas played Gordon Gekko, a ruthless banker imprisoned for insider trading.

Stone shows Gekko emerging from prison to a world where the greed-based system he knows is on the brink of collapse. Also starring Shia LeBeouf (Transformers) and British talent Carey Mulligan (An Education), the film features music from David Byrne. Armstrong is currently working on Stone’s forthcoming Secret History of America, a 10-hour TV series set to air on US cable channel Showtime.
