Directed by Jake Scott for Working Title/ Universal, Plunkett and Macleane stars Scottish actors Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle in the title roles, reigniting the on-screen dynamic seen previously in Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting.
The duo work their way through the scrapes and pitfalls of a highwayman’s life, all deftly accompanied by a score that was as fun to work on as it is to hear today. Craig Armstrong wrote the music at his very first film-writing studio, next door to Glasgow’s CAVA studios – where Scottish musical heroes Belle and Sebastian famously recorded their debut album, Tigermilk.
